Icelandair (2000)

Icelandair nunca se ha caracterizado por la reputación de su buen servicio a bordo, de hecho durante muchos años era algo así como una LCC avant la lettre que proporcionaba una forma barata de volar entre Europa y Estados Unidos vía Islandia.Es una empresa que se mantiene relativamente estable en el mercado, en parte por su situación de semimonopolio (muy pocas aerolíneas vuelan a Islandia) y en parte por el éxito de su hub intercontinental en Reykjavik, que aparece bien descrito en este folleto.

Icelandair was a low cost avant la lettre carrier, sort of. They have never had a reputation of being a "five star" airline, but they were well known as a cheap alternative to intercontinental travel, via their Reykjavik hub. The airline benefits from almost nonexistent concurrency (very few airlines fly to Iceland) and their hub, which is fairly well described in this brochure, still attracts many tourists from both sides of the Atlantic, which fly over Iceland.
